Bondi Explorer

World Famous Bondi Beach >>

When visiting Sydney, one of the must see locations is the world famous Bondi Beach, which is located 7 kilometres east of the Sydney Central Business District.  One of the most interesting and picturesque ways to get there is by the “Blue” Bondi Explorer.

The Bondi Explorer is a hop-on hop-off sightseeing bus, which departs every day commencing from 8.45 am from Circular Quay. The Bondi Explorer includes 19 stops.  This service can be picked up along the way at the distinctive Blue Bus Stops along the route at 30-minute intervals.  The last round trip departs at 4.15pm and arrives back at Circular Quay at 6.15 pm.

The bus is fully air-conditioned and wheelchair compatible. It also has an interesting driver commentary highlighting the upcoming stops.  You can either sit back, relax and enjoy the wonderful sights of Sydney’s affluent eastern suburbs, the stunning coastline and of course the stunning Eastern Suburb beaches including Tamarama, Bronte and Coogee before arriving at Bondi Beach.  If you decide to stay on the bus the complete trip is 30 kilometres long and takes approximately 2 hours.

The on-board commentary details the upcoming attractions before you reach each stop, so you can hop-off or hop-on at your leisure.  Some the attractions that you can visit include Woolloomooloo, Kings Cross, Double Bay, Rose Bay, Vaucluse, Watsons Bay, Bondi Beach, Bronte Beach, Coogee Beach, Randwick, Moore Park (Fox Studios), Paddington, Hyde Park and Martin Place.

There is no need to pre-book the Bondi Explorer, you can just hop on and pay the driver or purchase tickets at Circular Quay, Wynyard Station or Queen Victoria Building at Transit Shops.

If you are in Sydney for a few days, you can purchase a combined Bondi Explorer and Sydney Explorer, this enables you see all the wonderful sights Sydney and surrounding City suburbs have to offer.
