Fremantle, just a short drive south of Perth in Western Australia, is a major fishing port and the home of historic Fremantle Gaol and other historical attractions. Established at the mouth of the Swan River in 1829, Fremantle is a picturesque township only 20km from the heart of Perth. With a population of approx 25,000 000 Fremantle is where the beautiful Swan River and the Ocean meet and offers a treasure trove of cafes, museums and cultural experiences. Full of historic buildings, much of the town was restored for the America’s Cup Challenge in 1987 when it became the centre of world attention for yachting enthusiasts.
