Queensland is the holiday state – the Sunshine state – whose sunburnt outback and miles of sandy, white beaches pull in more tourists each year than anywhere else in Australia except Sydney. It's undisputed capital is Surfers Paradise, a dizzying party mecca which never seems to sleep and is not for the faint-hearted.
