Itinerary

Itinerary Day 1 Sat. Launceston, Seahorse World, Beaconsfield, Welcome Drinks and Dinner (D)

The tour begins this afternoon and we head north to scenic Beauty Point. At Seahorse World, take a tour of the aquarium, which houses a variety of fascinating sea creatures. From here, travel to Beaconsfield and visit the Grubb Shaft Mine and Heritage Museum. This afternoon, tour the township of Launceston. Tonight, enjoy complimentary Welcome Drinks with Dinner.
Accommodation: Launceston, Sandors on the Park. Stay in guaranteed City Park View rooms.

Sea Horse

Day 2 Sun. Weldborough Pass, Freycinet National Park, East Coast Natureworld, Crayfish Feast (BD)

This morning, travel through the pretty winegrowing area of northern Tasmania. During flowering season, visit the Bridestowe Lavender Farm (Dec. – Jan.).Proceed through the beautiful Weldborough Pass,home to some of the oldest myrtles in Australia. Next, stop at East Coast Natureworld and meet Delilah,a Tasmanian Devil that APT sponsors. Later, we enter beautiful Freycinet National Park. On arrival we are joined by a naturalist guide for a walking tour along the shores of Richardsons Beach, Coles Bay. Spend the evening on the beautiful east coast where you’ll be treated to a succulent crayfish dinner.

Lavendar

Day 3 Mon. Ross, Richmond, Tasman Peninsula, Eaglehawk Neck, Port Arthur (BD)

Journey inland to Ross to see one of the oldest and most beautiful bridges in Australia before heading to the town of Richmond. Spend some free time exploring this quaint village. Continue to Eaglehawk Neck, famous for its rugged coastline. See the Devils Kitchen, Tasman’s Arch and the Tessellated Pavement.

Day 4 Tue. Port Arthur, Isle of the Dead Cruise Hobart, Mt Nelson, Evening Play (BD)

At Port Arthur Historic Site, participate in the ‘Lottery of Life’ game, join a guided tour through the chapel and penitentiary ruins and learn about the harsh realities of convict life in the 19th century. Later, take a cruise around the Isle of the Dead. Then travel to historic Hobart. Journey to the summit of Mt Nelson for views over the city and suburbs. Tonight, enjoy a performance from historical figure Lady Jane Franklin.
Accommodation: Hobart, Grand Mercure Hadleys Hotel (2 nights).

Port Arthur

Day 5 Wed. Cadbury Chocolate Factory, Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens (B)

See the sights of Hobart this morning, including a guided tour through the Cadbury Chocolate Factory. Visit Salamanca Place and the Royal Tasmanian Botanical Gardens. Enjoy the remainder of the day and night at leisure to further explore Hobart for yourself.

Day 6 Thur. Hobart, Home (B)

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and then be transferred to Hobart Airport for your onward journey.
